its parts”…

Why Work with Tastebuds?

By Mark Gentile

Folks who know me know that I’m, perhaps, the last person to toot my own horn. So, the thought of making the case in support of hiring Tastebuds to meet the design and digital marketing needs of prospective clients remained just that, a thought, until today.

It’s 2023 and I’ve come to realize that the work I do with clients has evolved to a point that by simply talking about it in terms of “services provided” — e.g. design, content development, and marketing — is insufficient. Browsing my portfolio will provide you with specific examples accompanied by these descriptors, but there’s more to the story, much more to consider. As one small business owner to another, here’s what I want you to know about Tastebuds and why it’s relevant:

Proven Trust & Confidence

No, it’s not just a cliche. As stated in About Tastebuds, earned trust and confidence from my clients are attributes that I’m most proud of. Hopefully, you’ll also take a few minutes to review featured work in my Portfolio. Towards the top of each portfolio page, you’ll find a line of text that reads “Client since…,” providing an important baseline indicator for what you’ll experience, when working with Tastebuds.

Reliability — In Their Words

Related to the item above, I’m fortunate that many of my clients have shared the experience of working with Tastebuds on Google (with five-star ratings), Linkedin, and elsewhere on the Web.

Responsive, Accessible, and Flexible

There are times when it’s advantageous for Tastebuds to leverage the skill sets of other talented professionals, on a client’s behalf — or, when it’s simply necessary to hire additional production help to meet a project’s deadline. As a client, though, your primary experience will be with me — from consultation through implementation. When necessary, I’m available 24/7 to help clients resolve unforeseen problems that arise. Beyond “normal” working hours (nights & weekends) are when some clients find the time to step back and create some bandwidth, to think more clearly about EVERYTHING. I empathize and make myself available accordingly, to brainstorm, to advise or, to simply act as a sounding board, so to speak.

Understanding the “Big Picture,” and
Delivering Multi-level Solutions for Small Business

From consultation through implementation, Tastebuds delivers impactful solutions for small business clients. Creative thinking fuels the design and production of print, digital, audio, and video media utilized across multiple platforms — providing clients with elevated visual branding, well-conceived marketing strategy, and the tools they need tools for success.

My professional acumen began to develop just as the internet was taking shape. What I initially learned to design and produce was often printed on paper or some other physical substrate, for consumption by customers of my clients vs. today, when much of the work I do is with digital media. Nevertheless, I take with me the experience of print the world as it inevitably proves valuable for clients who need brochures, presentation materials, collateral, etc.

My journey from analog to digital honed my visual design skills and allowed, if not required, me to add content writing to my toolbox. Several years of experience in publishing, forays into music-related occupations, and other side-hustles required me to wear many hats along the way. Consequently, my understanding of the connection that design has to content development (in all of its forms), SEO, and digital marketing, became second nature. Putting it into practice over the years, I now recognize the great value that Tastebuds bring to the table for other small business owners who — for budgetary reasons or bandwidth/workflow constraints — are unable hire a staff or outsource and coordinate a team of specialists. Given the chance to speak with you, I’m confident that I could convince you of the same.

If you haven’t already, I invite you to review my portfolio and learn about Tastebuds’ inter-disciplinary approach:
